These files add the Spanish Civilization to Civ 3. It seems incredible that the Aztecs made the cut but the civilization that drove them out of existence did not. In this incarnation, The Spanish are militaristic expansionists (like the Zulus) who have access to the awesome "Tercios" as soon as Invention is discovered early in the Renaissance period (replacing the longbowmen).

Instructions:

1. Back up your original civ3mod.bic, civilopedia.txt and PediaIcons.txt (the last two are in the \Text folder).

2. Replace them with those in this archive.

3. Make a folder named "Tercios" under /Art/Units (that is, /Art/units/Tercios) and copy into it the contents of the unit folder that you wnat the Tercios to look like (I prefer the Legionaries myself, with black uniforms).

4. Rename the .ini file in the new folder (in my case, it was called legionary.ini) so it's now called "Tercios.ini"

That's it. Enjoy playing as Queen Isabella of Spain (who bears a remarkable resemblance to Joan of Arc, by the way).

Notes:
The mod was saved as civ3mod.bic because there is a bug in version 1.07f which prevents science from running correctly if it sees the rules as non-standard. Mostly created using the hacked version of civ3edit. Includes no new art: if you don't like Isabella's face or the Tercios' appearance, you can change them yourself easily.

The maximum number of cities before there is corruption has been doubled for all world sizes in an attempt (perhaps futile) to reduce civ 3's notorious escalation of corruption.
